Hedge trimming and removal in Iver

A maintenance trim follows an established face and removes the current extension growth. A reduction lowers the top or moves an overgrown side towards an agreed line. Removal cuts out the hedge and may leave separate stump work. The quote should say which result is being bought.

Old evergreen hedges can have little live growth behind the outside layer. Cutting hard into bare wood may leave a brown face that does not fill quickly. The hedge type, condition and depth of green growth affect what finish is realistic. We identify sections that need different treatment before the cut line is agreed.

Confirm who owns the hedge and whether both sides can be reached. A fence, neighbour's planting or shared boundary hidden inside dense growth can restrict cutting from one side. Woodside does not give boundary advice, so an ownership dispute needs resolving before work is booked.

Wild birds, their eggs and active nests are protected by law. The hedge itself must be checked rather than relying on a fixed date. If an active nest is found, part of the hedge may need to be left or the timing changed until the work can proceed lawfully.

Send the full hedge length, both ends, the base and the working space beside it. Include the approximate current height, the height wanted, any steps and the narrowest route. For removal, say whether the hedge stumps need separate grinding or will remain.

Clean-up is included. Cuttings and woody material are handled as agreed in the quote. A tall, long hedge produces more material than its clipped face suggests, while a narrow passage slows the route out. Those details belong in the price from the start.
