Commercial tree work can involve one tree beside a car park, several trees around shared grounds or a defined package of pruning and removal. The useful starting point is a tree-by-tree schedule. It should say which tree is involved, what operation is required and what must remain clear below. That is more reliable than a general instruction to tidy the trees.
The work can include pruning, deadwooding, established pollard maintenance, sectional dismantling, felling, stump grinding or planting where each item is written into the quote. Different operations should not be merged into one loose description. A reduction has a different result from a fell, and clean-up does not automatically mean every stump or piece of timber is removed.
Woodside Forestry Ltd carries out the agreed practical work. We do not provide tree surveys, inventories, inspection programmes, consultancy reports or formal client risk assessments. If a landowner, managing agent or insurer needs a written inspection or management plan, that should be prepared separately by an appropriate arboricultural consultant before the work specification is issued.

Plan around access and people on site
A useful quote shows more than the tree. We need the vehicle route, gate widths, parking controls, pedestrian routes, loading areas, neighbouring property and any fixed times when access cannot be restricted. Tell us who controls the site and who will be available on the day. If another contractor is working nearby, their area and programme need to be considered as well.
HSE guidance says landowners and forestry work managers should coordinate work and keep other people away from risk zones. Warning signs, barriers, diversions or a person controlling an approach may be needed where people could enter the work area. Work should stop if that zone is breached. The exact arrangement depends on the site rather than a standard barrier layout.
Send a site plan or marked photograph where one is available. Add the address, tree positions, working hours allowed by the site and the route for cut material. Mention overhead or underground services and any weight, height or surface restriction. Confirm authority, permission and programme
The person commissioning the work should confirm who has authority to approve it. Lease terms, landlord instructions or internal site procedures may apply. Tree Preservation Orders and conservation-area controls remain relevant on commercial land. A council decision may name individual trees and precise operations, so send the complete approved schedule and reference before restricted work starts.
Wild birds, their eggs and active nests are protected by law. The proposed tree and work area must be checked at the time rather than relying on one fixed nesting-season date. Other protected species or an ecology condition may also affect the programme. Woodside does not provide ecology surveys or licences, so specialist input must be arranged separately where the site requires it.
Site activity can change between quote and work day. New scaffolding, parked vehicles, events, deliveries or occupied rooms can remove the space shown during pricing. Tell us about programme changes before the crew arrives. A revised sequence or date is better than trying to force tree work into an area that is no longer available.
Keep the site controlled while work proceeds
Before cutting starts, the team confirms the site contact, named trees, written operations, access route and controlled area. The work then follows the agreed sequence so material does not block the route needed for the next tree. People using the property must follow the temporary signs and barriers while that part of the site is active.
Clean-up is included in every job. We leave the agreed work area clear, with branch, chip and timber handling recorded in the quote. The site contact should check the stated work before access controls are removed. A one-off visit does not create an inspection or maintenance contract, and later work needs a fresh agreed scope.

Do you offer automatic commercial maintenance contracts?
No. We quote defined practical tree work. A later visit needs a new scope and agreement. We do not monitor or inspect trees between jobs.
Can work be planned around people using the site?
Yes, where a safe working zone and access arrangement can be agreed. Send opening times, busy periods, delivery routes and any fixed access restriction with the quote request.
Can Woodside prepare a tree survey or management plan?
No. We carry out specified tree work and do not provide surveys, inventories, inspection reports or consultancy. Arrange those documents separately where they are required.
