When removal is the sensible option
Removal is sometimes the sensible option when a tree is dead, badly damaged, unstable or in the way of agreed building work. It can also be the right answer when repeated pruning will not solve the underlying problem. Woodside does not diagnose a tree from a photograph alone, but clear photos can show the site and the space around it.
A tree does not always need to be felled just because it has grown large. Pruning or crown reduction may keep a sound tree at a more suitable size. The reason for the work, the space available and the likely result should all be considered before the job is agreed.

Choose a straight fell or sectional dismantle
Where there is enough clear space, a tree can sometimes be felled from ground level in one controlled direction. Tight gardens may need a sectional dismantle instead. This allows a qualified climber to work through the crown and lower manageable pieces into the available working area.
Woodside is based in Iver and works across Slough and the surrounding area. A tree behind a Slough terrace can require a different plan from the same tree in an open Iver garden. Narrow passages, garages, sheds, greenhouses, overhead cables and surfaces below the crown all affect the quote.

Control the area and remove the tree
The agreed work and working area are confirmed before removal starts. The planned method sets out how the work area is controlled while sections are cut and moved. If the stump is staying, its finishing height should be recorded in the quote. Stump grinding can be priced separately when the space needs to be cleared below ground level.
Clean-up is included in every job. What happens to timber and chip is agreed for that particular job, because some customers want usable logs left while others want the material taken away.
Check protection, access and wildlife first
A Tree Preservation Order or conservation-area status can affect what work is allowed. The local planning authority handles those controls. If you already have a decision or reference, send it with the quote request so the proposed work can be matched to it.
The date also depends on access, weather and the condition of the tree. Emergency work is handled differently from a planned removal. If there is an immediate danger, keep people away from the area and use the emergency call-out number.

Can you remove a tree in a small garden?
Often, yes. Tight access usually means dismantling the tree in smaller sections. A visit may be needed before the method can be confirmed.
Does tree removal include the stump?
Not automatically. Felling and stump grinding are separate parts of the work, so the quote states whether the stump will stay or be ground out.
Will the site be cleared afterwards?
Clean-up is included. The quote also records what will happen to timber and chip so there is no guesswork on the day.
